Our story

A café built around one simple idea.

Riverside Café is a family-run café on the Thames path in Reading. We opened in a small wooden building in 2011 with a second-hand espresso machine, a stack of mismatched mugs, and a determination to make somewhere the whole town would feel welcome.

The people

Behind the counter you'll usually find Ellie and Tom, joined by a small team of baristas who genuinely love what they do — and remember your order after your second visit.

The ingredients

Our coffee is roasted 20 miles away. Our bread comes from a bakery in Caversham. Our eggs and jam are from Berkshire farms. Small choices, but they add up.
